![]() ![]() The seam is a bad match because they don't come book matched. The seam isn't a bad match because the seam is in a corner. Thank you all for your helpful insights! :)Ī different edge wouldn't have fixed the veins not matching. This is laziness and unprofessionalism from the people at Solid Surfaces in my opinion and I think that Cambria should be aware of it. I feel that it was bad customer service to not review my choices with me. If someone at Solid Surfaces would have educated me, this wouldn't have happened because we would have either chosen a different countertop or a different corner edge. If this information were provided to me from the people at Solid Surfaces, it would have helped me make a choice on what pattern we would have chosen and also what cut. I have received very good information on this post from various people. Solid Surfaces is supposed to be professionals that help their customers by giving them information and options. I simply want to inform others that this could happen to them. Looks like they might be the "save face brigade" of people that look for negative feedback? That's fair, it's a free country :) I am not irate and I do love my kitchen overall (minus this sore thumb). It sounds like the person above might work at Solid Surfaces based on their knowledge of where I posted what. I'd suggest you request a large cutting board of the same from the waste.and park it over the seam: ) A photo or tracing of the pattern may help them find a sweet spot to cut you one, for which they should not make you pay, based on your unhappy factor: ) All of these tops are fragile UNTIL installation and a hairline fissure may not appear until after if poorly handled along the travel route. Blame anyone you want, but it is NOT the fault of Cambria.Ĭambria can not assume responsibility for every template, fabrication and install, or for the travel from fabricator to home installation. Large man made, manufactured movements such as this.are best used where no seaming is required. That said, all materials have a bad, better, good, best application. Much like pattern matching with a fabric. The only solution here, would have involved a separate slab and huge amount of waste, to ensure a perfect seam and match of pattern. I am quite familiar with Solid Surfaces, ( Rochester) and it's usually a very good job. I hope this helps someone! Does anyone agree that this is not correct? And after spending so much money, Cambria and Solid Surfaces was a HUGE disappointment. ![]() This is something that we spent a lot of time deciding and was the final piece to our kitchen remodel. I wanted to share my story with you so that this does not happen to anyone else. Once you sign that form, you are completely on your own. They do not even consider the customer, which I think is terrible customer service. My warning to you is that Cambria makes you sign a form and this form will give you NO RECOURSE, whether it cracks (which I have read many unhappy Cambria customers on other threads on this forum whose countertops cracked within days of install) or whether you are unsatisfied for any way. I am disappointed after spending over $6000 on these counters. I expected that maybe it would be a centimeter or so off but that the veining would still match. ![]() When I reviewed it with them, they had me sign a form and the salesperson said "this is because the veins might not match up perfectly". This causes the veining to be completely mismatched. They DID NOT, however, tell me that the specific type of seam that they used takes 2 inches out of the area where the seam is. I worked with Solid Surfaces in Western NY, I went to their location, selected my slab and they taped off where the counter would be seamed. If you are considering Cambria products, especially any with a patterns such as Brittanicca, I would like you to reconsider.
